CLARENCE, MO. — Police in Shelby County, Mo. are investigating a bank robbery that occurred Thursday afternoon in the city of Clarence, Mo., according to a KTVO report posted by Monisha Bruner on Jan. 17.

Officers located the Pontiac abandoned on a county road about 1.5 miles northeast of Clarence. Law enforcement set up a search perimeter and uitlized a patrol aircraft according to the news release.

At about 2:50 p.m. patrol canine unit found Barber and he was taken into custody. Barber is being held in the Shelby County Jail awaiting the issuance of a warrant.

Barber has an active felony case in Appanoose County. He is facing one count of forgery and one count of trafficking in stolen weapons, both class D felonies for alleged crimes committed in December of 2012.

The Daily Iowegian will publish an Editorial Question of the Week on the Opinion page. The Iowegian wants readers to think about the Internal Revenue Service scandal. Dick Polman in an editorial wrote "the IRS' targeting of small-fry conservative groups was not a conspiratorial socialist plot. It was knuckleheaded, ill-supervised bureaucratic ineptitude." So, the question of the week is, "Do you agree or disagree with Polman's analysis of the IRS scandal?"

A. Agree
B. Disagree
C. Not sure
