Optimist clubs from across Iowa will be hosting their annual Iowa District Conference at Honey Creek Resort at Rathbun Lake July 29-Aug. 1. The clubs would like to invite all kids age 16 and under to a free fishing derby on Saturday beginning at 8 a.m. Prizes will be awarded in a number of categories to both boys and girls. Kids may bring their own fishing poles if they like or some will be available for use. This event is the first held by Iowa District Optimists during their convention. It is not necessary to pre-register, just show up, put the line in the water and have fun.
