The Appanoose County Golf Club held its annual two-man best ball torunament on Saturday and Sunday, June 27 and 28.
This tournament has become one of southern Iowa's most popular golf outings. This year there were over 130 participants involved in the two day event.
After the first day's 18 holes the field was divided into five flights for the final 18 holes. The Chanpionship Flight was won by Kent and Tanner Dinsdale from Rolla, Mo. with an outstanding score of 128. The first flight winners were Alex Belloma and Chris Pearson. Matt Kovacevich, paired with the days youngest golfer, Alex Moorman, won the second flight, Gary and Jordan Rupe of Bloomfield won the third flight and Jack Walker and Larry Warrick won the fourth.
The weather for the tourney was outstanding and the course was in great shape. Many of the golfers from out of town had nothing but praise for the condition of the course, which was a testament to course superintendent Pat Rinkleff and his maintence crew. Justin Zapitul had the tournament organized so things ran smoothly for the entire 36 holes.
