Rosemary was born May 9, 1920 in Mystic to John and Mary Clark Llewelyn. Rosemary’s invalid older sister, Edna, was lovingly cared for by Rosemary throughout her entire life. Rosemary always had an interest in music and began performing at a young age in the Mystic Methodist Church. She moved with her family to Bloomfield in 1928 after her father sold his bakery in Mystic. Rosemary's father and brother Albert then built the Hamburger Inn — the first fast food restaurant in Bloomfield. She graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1937. She was editor of the Bloomfield High School Newspaper.
After graduating from high school, Rosemary attended Iowa State Teachers College and received her elementary teaching degree. Rosemary taught in Pulaski from 1939 to 1941 and in Bloomfield from 1941 to 1944. She completed her B.S. in Education from Northeast Missouri State and then taught in the Ottumwa schools from 1962 to 1971 and again in Bloomfield from 1971-1973.
Rosemary began as pianist at the Bloomfield Christian Church in 1946 and continued as organist until 1992. Rosemary served as an organist at the Bloomfield Methodist Church and continued playing until her 90th birthday in 2010.
Rosemary and Carol Priester were married in 1963; they owned and operated the Priester Funeral Chapel in Bloomfield. Rosemary was a 70-year member of P.E.O, and a 50-year member of Eastern Star. She was pianist for the Bloomfield Rotary Club for many years and a member of the Davis County Retired Teachers Association and was very active in many other community organizations.
Rosemary is survived by a son, Fred (Carolyn) Jenkins of Centerville, daughter, Patricia (Duane) Sprouse of Keota , three grandchildren, Jeff (Molly) Sprouse of Keota, Debra (Corey) Witzman of Wentzville, Mo. and Michael (Tomisha) Sprouse of Keota, and nine great-grandchildren, Raigan Sprouse, Addison Sprouse, Carson Sprouse, Caden Sprouse, Ella Witzman, Megan Witzman, Jenna Witzman, Tucker Sprouse and Grayson Sprouse.
