Margie Pontious, 66, died Dec. 6, 2012 in Pampa, Texas.
Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012 at First Christian Church, with Dr. Jeff Knighton, pastor, officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
Mrs. Pontious was born Jan. 12, 1946 in Winterset. She attended schools in Iowa, graduating from Centerville High School in 1964. Margie married John Pontious on Feb. 12, 1966 in Centerville. She had been a resident of Pampa since 1981. She worked for First Presbyterian Church and Austin Elementary School Latchkey program, retiring in 2008. Margie was a member of First Christian Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed painting, cross stitching, reading and her Bible studies. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Survivors include her husband: John Pontious of the home; two daughters: Becky Brooks of Plano, and Missy Masters and husband Blake of Los Angeles, Calif.; a sister: Jackie Kirkpatrick of Kansas City, Kan.; four granddaughters: Danyelle Brooks and Abbie Brooks, both of Plano, and Katie Masters and Olivia Masters, both of Los Angeles, Calif.; and a grandson: Joshua Brooks of Plano. Margie was preceded in death by her parents.
