MOULTON —
James M. Replogle, 75, of Moulton, died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines.
He was born the son of Arthur E. and Garnet (Burton) Replogle on June 4, 1937 in Moulton. He graduated from the Moulton Community High School in 1954.
He served in the United States Air Force from 1955-1959 at Grandview-Richards-Gebaur, Mo. On July 24, 1956, James was united in marriage to Freda Joann Kirby in Centerville. They made their home in Davenport for 40 years while he worked for Life Support Division as an electrician. He retired in 1999 moving to the family farm in Moulton. He enjoyed working and farming. He always planned two jobs a day, one for a rainy day and one for a sunny day. His hobbies included restoring his Super H Farmall and John Deere A tractors for the grandkids to enjoy. He was an active member of the American Legion Post 280 in Moulton and the Moulton Christian Church. He was also an active volunteer for several organizations in Moulton including the Moulton Christian Church, Moulton Chamber of Commerce, Moulton Historical Society and he also enjoyed helping with the fundraising for the Moulton Volunteer EMS and Fire Department.
He was preceded in death by: his father, Arthur Replogle on March 17, 1979; and his sister, Dellal "Jane" McGoldrick on April 6, 2007; and his grandparents, Ray and Cora Stober Replogle and Finis and Lala VanHorn Burton.
James is survived by his wife, Freda Joann Replogle of Moulton; his mother, Garnet Replogle of Moulton; his sons, Jack Replogle and his wife, JoEllen of Mystic and John Replogle and his wife, Mandie of Moulton; a brother, Keith Replogle and his wife, Grace of Rockford, Ill.; a sister, Helen Davis and her husband, Jerry of Glendale, Ariz.; his grandchildren, Jesse Replogle and his wife, Melinda, Jamie Hyde and her husband, John, Jennifer Henderson and her husband, Micheal, Maxwell Replogle and Madelyn Replogle; great grandchildren, Carter and Kenzie Replogle, Lucas and Leland Replogle, Gracie and Samantha Hyde; and step great-grandchildren, Cole and Jarred Hyde.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10 at the Moulton Christian Church in Moulton with the Rev. Reg Higginbottom officiating. Burial with full military honors by the Burl McClure Post in Moulton will be held at the Sunset View Cemetery north of Moulton. Visitation will be held today from 2-8 p.m. at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Moulton with the family present from 6-8 p.m.
