MOULTON —
Sandra H. Gardner-Adams, 74, of Moulton, died Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013 at her home in Moulton. She was born the daughter of Trenton and Janice Perlene (Dixon) Wendland on Feb. 28, 1938 in Moulton. She graduated from the Moulton High School in 1957.
She was first united in marriage to John Spears in Denver, Colo., later she would marry Paul Gardner. After they were divorced, then in September of 1987, Sandra was united in marriage to Keith D. Adams in Davenport. She worked for more than 23 years for the Davenport School System in Davenport. After retiring she moved back to Moulton and was a member of the Baptist Church in Moulton.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Keith D. Adams on June 19, 2004; daughter, Julie Carlson on Dec. 6, 2012; step-father, Clint Rifenbery; grandson, Jamie Erickson; niece, Tammy Marvin and a nephew, Larry Wendland, Jr.
Sandra is survived by: her daughters, Cathy Johnstone (Steven) of Davenport and Paula Flores (Robert) of Junction City, Kan.; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Larry Wendland of Moulton, Terry Wendland of Eldridge and Mark Rifenbery of Moulton; and sisters, Jean Marvin of Moulton and Brenda Pantle of Chicago, Ill.
A celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 26 at the Moulton Christian Church in Moulton. Burial of ashes will follow at the Sunset View Cemetery north of Moulton. Visitation will be held on Friday, Jan. 25 from 2-8 p.m. at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Moulton with the family present from 5-8 p.m.
Memorials may be made to Garrett Memorial Library, HCI Care Service or Oakland Cemetery Association and can be mailed or left at the funeral home.
