Harold William Blair

Harold William Blair, 77, of Des Moines, passed away Friday, Feb. 19, 2010 at his home in Des Moines.

Harold was born to John and Bessie (Moore) Blair on Dec. 15, 1932 in Egypt, Iowa. He married Carol Joan Thomas on March 6, 1953 in Centerville. Harold enjoyed fishing, camping, fixing old lawn mowers, dog breeding and NASCAR (especially) Jeff Gordon. He enjoyed time spent with his family and his dog, Molly.

Harold is survived by two sons, Randy Blair (Linda) of Pleasant Hill, Tim Blair of Des Moines, five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, brother, Paul Blair of Cincinnati, Iowa and a sister Pauline McNeff of Centerville.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Joan Blair, on Aug. 21, 2008, two brothers; Merle Blair, Jim Blair and a sister, Louise Foster.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23 at Thomas Funeral Home. Visitation will be two hours prior from 11 a.m-1 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home. Interment will be in Dale Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the family, which may be left at or mailed to Thomas Funeral Home, 23548 Highway5, P.O. Box 125, Centerville, Iowa 52544.
