OTTUMWA —
Geraldine Stockton Musgrove, 85, of Ottumwa, formerly of Centerville, died at 5:55 a.m. Friday, Nov. 30, 2012 at Ridgewood Nursing and Rehab Center.
She was born April 23, 1927 in Coal City to William “Tuck” and Nellie Corder Richmond. She married Clarence Raymond Stockton on April 13, 1947. He preceded her in death on June 29, 1991. She married Paul Musgrove on Jan. 16, 1999. He preceded her in death on Nov. 11, 2000.
A graduate of Livonia High School in Livonia, Mo., she earned a B.A. in English from Parsons College and a M.A. in Special Education from Northeast Missouri State University.
Geraldine was a special education teacher in Pleasant Valley, Centerville and Ottumwa, retiring in 1984. While teaching in Centerville, she started a work program that turned out to be a great success.
She is a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was a life time member of the National Education Association.
Surviving is a daughter, Penny (Roger) Waldren of Ottumwa; two sons, Mike (Sue) Stockton of Ottumwa and Pat (Jane) Stockton of Knoxville; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; a sister, Sue (Wayne) Veach of Centerville and a sister-in-law, Donna Richmond of Ottumwa.
She was preceded in death by her father, William Richmond; her mother and step-father who raised her, Nellie and Charles Lee; a granddaughter, Christina Jane Stockton; and three brothers, Bill Richmond, Harold Lee and infant Thomas Lee.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4 at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa with the Rev. Danny Cary officiating. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery in Livonia, Mo.
Visitation begins at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 2 at Reece Funeral Home with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday.
Memorials may be made to Hospice serving Wapello and Davis Counties, 927 E. Pennsylvania Ave., Ottumwa, IA 52501
