CENTERVILLE —
Daniel A. Davis, 48, of 521 Haynes Ave. in Centerville, died at 10:05 p.m. July 24, 2012 at Ridgewood Nursing and Rehab in Ottumwa.
He was born Feb. 8, 1964 in Iowa City to Richard and Mary Baker Davis.
A graduate of Centerville High School and Indian Hills Community College, he had attended Drake University.
Dan spent most of his life in artistic endeavors using many mediums to showcase his talents. He designed and sold jewelry, created leather goods, used graphic arts in advertising and was a green thumb in landscaping. Like his parents before him, he was very active in the politics of the Democratic Party. He enjoyed spending time with his sister’s dog, Scooter.
Surviving are his mother, Mary Helen Davis of Centerville; a brother, Chris (Dhonia) Davis of Dallas, Texas; a sister, Cindy (Jason) Crow of Quincy, Ill.; three nieces and nephews, C.J. Crow, Dalton Crow and Baylee Davis.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Davis.
Private graveside services and burial will be at McCormick Cemetery with the Rev. Brian Hargrave officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Centerville High School Art Department, P.O. Box 370 Centerville, IA 52544.
