LOVELAND, Colol. —
Ronald “Ron” Raymond Mathews of Loveland, Colo. died on Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012.
Ron was born on Sept. 5, 1942 in San Diego to Friel and Lucille Mathews while his father was in the service. Ron spent his childhood in Cincinnati. He married his high school sweetheart Alice Gerard in 1961, so they had over 50 years together.
Ron and Alice owned Mathews Sewing Center in downtown Loveland, Colo. for 41 years before closing in 2011.
Ron is survived by his wife, Alice; their two daughters, Teresa Renee Darner of Loveland, Colo. and Melissa Mathews of Las Vegas; grandchildren, Tyler, Briana and Mathew Darner; his mom, Lesteretta Mathews of Centerville; brothers, Rick Mathews (wife Mary) of Centerville, Randy Mathews (wife Cathy) of Marion, and Ralph Eugene Mathews of Glenwood; and a very special aunt, Leolla Besse.
A reception to celebrate his life was held in Loveland, Colo. A memorial service will be held in the Cincinnati/Centerville area later in September.
