APTOS, Calif. —
Jean Padovan Keller of Aptos, Calif. died peacefully surrounded by her family Monday, Nov. l2, 2012.
Jean was born April 25, l930 to John and Eugenia Padovan of Numa.
She is survived by her children; Mary Lynn Bernhard of Dayton, Ohio, Scott Keller of San Jose, Calif., Lisa Holdaway, son-in-law Daric Holdaway and grandson Benjamin Holdaway all from Soquel, Calif.; and by her sister Virginia Padovan of Centerville.
Jean graduated from the University of Iowa’s College of Nursing in 1951. She worked as a nurse in Iowa City before moving to Palo Alto, Calif. where she married and had a family. Jean would raise her family in Aptos, Calif. and spent her career as a Registered Nurse working at many local convalescent hospitals and as an industrial nurse at Teledyne McCormick in Hollister. After retiring from nursing, she enjoyed her weekly volunteer hours at Saint John's Helpful Shop in Capitola and Caroline's Thrift Store in Aptos.
Jean was an active member of the Episcopal Church of Saint John the Baptist in Aptos. She loved her family and her home was always open to all. She loved baking, working in her beautiful garden filled with flowers and was always so happy when she could work in her yard. Jean also played the piano and had a beautiful singing voice and she especially loved spending time with her grandson, whether it was helping him practice the piano or cheering him on at all of his sporting events. She loved everyone and loved to help anyone in need.
Friends and family were invited to a celebration of Jean’s life at a Memorial Service at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 125 Canterbury Dr. Aptos, Calif. on Saturday Nov. 17 at 3:30 p.m.
