Hazel Marie Goben, age 98, of Centerville died Thursday, Dec. 27, 2007 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville.
She was born Oct. 14, 1909 near Bonaparte in Van Buren County to William and Ella (Russell) Mitchell.
She married Don Goben in Bonaparte and he preceded her in death.
Hazel was a homemaker and she loved gardening, cooking and enjoyed being with her family. She attended the First Baptist Church and was a member of the 18-80 Club in Centerville.
She is survived by one daughter, Rosella Holland of Centerville; one son-in-law, Bert Tracy of Centerville; four grandsons: Don (Lana) Tracy of Hendersonville, Tenn., Bruce (Jamie) Tracy of Centerville, Rick (Ginger) Tracy also of Centerville and Bill Holland of Coatsville, Mo. Also surviving are two granddaughters: Bonnie (Gary) Simmons of Monroe, Becky Clayworth of Centerville and one granddaughter-in-law, Linda Tracy of Centerville; and several great-grandchildren.
Hazel was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Donna Tracy, one grandson, Gary Tracy; two brothers, Paul and Russell Mitchell and two sisters, Ester Nixon and Olga Keck.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, at Oakland Cemetery in Centerville. Interment will follow the graveside service.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 29, at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home in Centerville.
