Jaymie Gale Paine

Jaymie Gale Roemerman Paine, 51, of Warrenton, Ore., died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2007 in Warrenton.

She was born Apri 3, 1956 in Williamsburg, the daughter of William Virgil Roemerman and Verna Townsend Roemerman.

Jaymie graduated from Maquoketa High School in Maquoketa. She then attended the University of Northern Iowa for a period of time. She graduated form Illinois Lutheran School of Nursing in Moline, Ill.

She married John Paine Sept. 1, 1986 in Colorado. John preceded her in death.

The family moved to the Clatsop County area in 1992 and have resided there since. Jaymie worked as a registered nurse in Colorado, Astoria, and in Portland. Her children were the light of her life, and she will be missed by all of her family and many friends.

Survivors include a son, Christopher John Paine of Warrenton, Ore.; a daughter, Erin Noelle Paine of Warrenton, Ore.; her father and mother, William and Verna Roemerman of Centerville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael and Susan Roemerman of Wisconsin Rapids, Wis., and Martin and Angela Roemerman of Iowa City; three nephews, David Roemerman of Gainesville, Fla., Geoffrey Roemerman of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Daniel Roemerman of Iowa City; and four nieces, Krista Roemerman of Wisconsin Rapids, Wis., and Meredith, Kaitlyn, Daniel and Anna Roemerman of Iowa City.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, Dec. 29, at 1 p.m. at Caldwell's Luce-Layton Mortuary, 1165 Franklin Avenue in Astoria, Ore.

This week the Iowegian wants readers to think about the recent decision by the Centerville Municipal Waterworks Board of Directors to increase the fee for late payment of water bills. In a story published in Wednesday's Ad Express, board members announced a 10 percent late fee after two days late, a $50 red tag fee for accounts unpaid after seven days late and a $25 shut off fee, water service terminated after two weeks late. The board said the decision to increase the fees associated with late payment is to encourage customers to pay their bills on time. So, the question this week is, "Are these fees too much to ask for?"
