Georgia “Colleen” Swarts, 80, of Centerville died Monday, Dec. 31, 2007 of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Funeral services will be held at noon Friday, Jan. 4, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street in Des Moines.
Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Thursday, at the funeral home.
Colleen was born Sept. 29, 1927 in Cincinnati to George and Forrest Auten.
She married Kermit on Feb. 6, 1947. She was a member of Cincinnati Christian Church, Bethany Baptist Church, and Indianola Heights Evangelical Free Church. Colleen enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and spending time with her family.
Colleen is survived by her husband Kermit of 60 years; her daughters, Linda (Jessie) Jans of Fairview, Ore., and Denise (Paul) McGillivray of Overland Park, Kan.; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Ruth Lowe and Freda Worthington.
Memorial contributions may be made to Cincinnati Christian Church in loving memory of Colleen.
