CENTERVILLE —
Max Ewing, 51, of Centerville, passed away Monday, Oct. 29, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville.
Max was born Oct. 13, 1961 to Matthew and Maxine (Scott) Ewing. He received his education from Centerville High School graduating in 1980. Max was a caretaker as a part of Home Health Care. He was a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church in Centerville. Max enjoyed fishing, hunting and watching the Oakland Raiders. He also enjoyed his time as a kid's baseball and football coach.
Max is survived by his mother, Maxine Ewing, of Centerville; two sisters, Margery Davison of Centerville and Marilyn J. Middleton (Kelly) of Centerville; brother, Matthew T. Ewing, III of Albia; nephew, Bob McGrann (Rona) of Des Moines; two nieces, Sarah and Becky Ewing of Centerville; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Matthew Ewing, II; seven uncles, Bobby Lee Scott, who was stillborn, Billy Joe Scott, Luther Caster, Bernard Casady, Raymond Bennett, John Ewing and Dale Derby; four aunts, Lois Caster, Jane Bennett, Rose Scott and Bernice Derby; four cousins, Daryl Tisue, Marty and Norman McClurg and Warren Casady; and two brothers-in-law, Tim Logan and Jeff Davison.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3 at Main Station Cemetery north of Rathbun with Al Cooper officiating.
Memorials may be given to the family which may be left at or mailed to Thomas Funeral Home, 23548 Highway 5, P.O. Box 125, Centerville, Iowa 52544.
