CENTERVILLE —
May Eloise Byte, 88, of Centerville, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012 at the Centerville Nursing and Rehab Center in Centerville.
She was born the daughter of Frank Marion and Katherine (Clemens) Peel on Sept. 20, 1924 in Centerville. She received her education in the Centerville Community Schools.
On Aug. 2, 1940, Eloise was united in marriage to Joseph Byte in Unionville, Mo. She enjoyed being a mother and making her house a home for her family. She was baptized at a young age at the First Baptist Church in Centerville.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Joe Byte; and two brothers, Leonard and Glenn Peel.
Eloise is survived by: her son, Robert Byte and his wife, Eileen of Centerville; daughters, Connie Cornett and her husband, Patrick of Centerville and Debbie Kury and her husband, Tony of Centerville; grandchildren, Missy Cornett-Gilman, Tracy Byte, Bobby Joe Byte, Jr., Haley Bishop and her husband, Tom and Megan Wulff; ten great-grandchildren; brothers, Wayne and Laverne Peel of Centerville; a sister, Bernice Peel of Centerville; several nieces, nephews and cousins and a very special friend, Leon Van Dike of Centerville.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville with the Rev. Dennis Gilbert officiating. Burial will follow at the Dale Cemetery north of Centerville. Visitation was held Sunday, Dec. 2 with the family present from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to either the M&M's at First United Methodist Church or to Appanoose Community Care Service and can be left or mailed to the funeral home.
