UNIONVILLE, Ia. —
Robert Babbitt, 63, of Unionville, Iowa, died Monday, Jan. 7, 2013 at his home.
Bob was born Nov. 21, 1949 in Centerville, the son of Doyle and Joan (Myers) Babbitt. He was joined in marriage to Beverly Ann Smith on June 7, 1969 in Unionville, Iowa.
Bob worked at Curwood in Centerville for 42 years and farmed as well. He enjoyed hunting, reading and his gun collection. He was a member of the NRA and the Appanoose County Extension Council. Bobs’ true joy in life was spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Bob is survived by his wife Beverly; children, Michelle Babbitt of Kalona, Shane Babbitt, of Moravia and Jamie Jo (Donnie) Hedgecock of Moulton; grandchildren Tyler Senior (Brittney) of North Liberty, Nick Senior (Amber) of Hawaii, Breanna Senior of Coralville, Gabriel Babbitt of Pleasantville, Alicia Smith of Sigourney, Jamie Hutchinson of Lovilla, Danielle Harding of Ames, Konnr Hedgecock of Moulton, Dylan Hedgecock of Ottumwa and Brittani Hedgecock of Moulton; great-grandchildren Daisee Senior, Ava Senior, Lily Senior and Jamison Hutchinson; and brothers Wayne (Cindy) Babbitt of Mystic and Dan (Michelle) Babbitt of Moravia.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents Mervin and Dorothy (Minks) Myers and Nancy and Dan Bland; and son-in-law Tim Senior.
Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Thursday Jan. 10 at Lange Funeral Home in Moravia with Pastor Lloyd Johnston officiating. Friends may call all day today at the Lange Funeral Home in Moravia with the family present at the funeral home between 6-8 p.m. Burial will be in the Taylor Cemetery east of Unionville, Iowa.
