Ida Ruth Baugher

CINCINNATI — Ida Ruth Baugher, 87, of Cincinnati, passed to her rest, Tuesday morning, Nov. 16, 2010, at the Putnam County Memorial Care Center in Unionville, Mo.  She was born the fifth of six children to Charles W. and Opal E. (Stout) Collier in Albia on April 25, 1923. She attended the Centerville Community Schools.

On Dec. 19, 1939, Ruth was united in marriage to Paul Baugher in Centerville. They spent their lifetime farming the family farm on the Iowa/Missouri line, south of Exline. Before her health began to decline, she was an avid gardener and enjoyed cooking and sewing. She was a member of the Centerville Seventh-day Adventist Church and was a breast cancer survivor for 26 years.

She was preceded in death by:  her parents;  and her husband, Paul Baugher on March 13, 2005.

Ruth is survived by:  three children,  Sherrill Baugher of Cincinnati; Ted and his wife, Sherry Baugher of Lincoln, Neb. and Deborah and her husband, Sam Pankey of Corinth, Miss.; seven grandchildren, Amy and her husband, Jeff Deming of Monterey Bay, Calif.,  Tricia and her husband, Brian Herbel of Lincoln, Neb., Tanya and her husband, Eric Kelley of Huntsville, Ala., Paul Pankey of Huntsville, Ala., Rachel Pankey of Chattanooga, Tenn. and Michelle Pankey of Oxford, Miss.; 10 greatgrandchildren; several cousins and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Nov. 22 at 11 a.m. at the Schmidt Funeral Home in Centerville with Pastor Able Hagan officiating. Burial will follow at the Friendship Cemetery near Mendota, Mo. Visitation will be held Sunday, Nov. 21 from 1-8 p.m. at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville with the family present from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials can be made to Friendship Cemetery and left at or mailed to the funeral home.
