CENTERVILLE —
Jean Sebben, 96, of Centerville, died Friday, March 1, 2013, at Centerville Nursing and Rehab Center in Centerville.
She was born July 11, 1916 in Hedrick, the daughter of George E. and Marvel F. (Morgan) Glascock. She graduated from Cincinnati High School where she played on the girls basketball team.
On July 27, 1937, Jean was united in marriage to Raymond Sebben in Lancaster, Mo. Together, they ran Raymond's Dairy Creme in Centerville, for more than 30 years. She also was proud of her cooking and her flower and vegetable gardens. She also loved birds and was a person of action. She so enjoyed being around children and was especially proud of her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond Sebben on March 27, 1999; brothers, Paul Glascock, Otis Glascock, Raymond "Barney" Glascock, Tommie Glascock, Richard "Dick" Glascock and one in infancy.
Jean is survived by her daughter, Gay Lawrence and her husband, Tony of Edina, Minn.; grandsons, John Lawrence and Thomas Lawrence; and a brother, George Glascock of Centerville.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 9 at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville with the Rev. Carl and Sharon Heien officiating. Burial to follow at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Cincinnati. Visitation will be held Friday, March 8 from 1-8 p.m. with the family present from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to either the Pleasant Hill Cemetery or to the Centerville Nursing and Rehab’s Activity Fund and can be mailed to or left at the funeral home.
