CENTERVILLE —
The Centerville Concert Association has provided world class entertainment for the southern Iowa and northern Missouri area for the past 46 years. The association is announcing the series for the 2012-2013 season and is inviting the public to join the more than 300 members who enjoyed last season to become part of the current August/September membership drive. Season tickets this year are available for four local performances plus 19 additional and different concerts in Ottumwa, Washington and Fairfield. The $35 adult, $10 student, $75 family season ticket prices have not changed and make the concert series one of the best values around.
The Association is known to provide a variety of entertaining concerts for the music patrons of this area and is evident with the line up chosen for the coming season. Shows selected are: Take Me Home: The Music of John Denver; Cahal Dunne, “Ireland's Happy Man”; Thuringer SalonQuintett, European Cafe Music; and New Odyssey, 3 Guys — 30 Instruments.
Letters have been sent to members and new individuals and business to become part of the Centerville Concert Associaion by mailing checks to become members in advance of the drive which will begin on Aug. 28. Volunteers will then be making contacts and while a good percentage of the community will be contacted, interested individuals are also encouraged to purchase memberships at Owl Pharmacy or J&K Market on the Centerville square.
The Centerville Concert Association is a non-profit organization and all revenues go towards artist fees and administrative and technical concert costs. The Association appreciates all the support the area has shown over the years as they continue their goal of providing entertainment and education for everyone regardless of age. The concert series benefits not only individuals attending but the community's image as a whole.
