Iowa Artists show looking for submissions


The Iowa Artists Annual Art Show for Area 11 will be held Saturday, April 24 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., at the First Iowa State Bank’s Heritage Hall on the north side of the historic Albia Square.

Richard Dutton, retired Indian Hills Community College art professor, will judge the show, and at 1 p.m. will open a public program to announce winners, and follow up with an artwork critique. Artists 18 years of age and older, from the counties of Appanoose, Davis, Keokuk, Lucas, Mahaska, Marion, Monroe, Wapello and Wayne are eligible to join the Iowa Artists and enter up to three artworks. All entries must represent the artist’s original work and be derived from the artist’s own experience. Ribbons will be awarded at the discretion of Professor Dutton, who will also name a Best-of-Show winner.

All blue-ribbon award winners advance to the State Show to be held May 8 in Fairfield.
