The Mercy Medical Center Hospital Auxiliary in Centerville will be awarding $500 scholarships to be used for books and/or tuition for persons entering any licensed field of medicine.
Applications for the scholarships may be picked up at the Mercy Medical Center in Centerville from Denise Sebolt at (641) 437- 3411 or from Mitzi Valentine, 12983 510th St., Plano, Iowa 52581 at (641) 649- 2459.
Any resident of Appanoose County or the six surrounding counties, including Putnam County, Mo., are eligible for the scholarship.
Motivation, as well as financial need, will be among the conditions considered in choosing the finalists.
Applications must be submitted by May 1.
