Benefit for Unionville mayor to be held

A benefit meal and auction will be held for Unionville, Mo. mayor Karl Klinginsmith on Sat. Sept. 26. The benefit will assist Karl and his family with medical expenses due to his illness. A noon meal will be served at the Lion’s building at the Unionville City Park from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. along with the opportunity to play bingo.

An evening meal will be served at the Unionville Country Club from 5:30-7:30 p.m. and an auction of donated goods will begin at 7 p.m.

The meals will be served on an “eat what you want, pay what you want” basis. Musical entertainment will be provided after the auction. There will be tickets sold prior to the benefit and on that day for a 50/50 drawing with 50 percent of the proceeds going to the Klinginsmith family. Any individual or business having items to donate for the auction can call 947-2827 or 941-3316 for pick up.
