64th Houser reunion

CENTERVILLE — It was fun to get together Labor Day weekend for the Houser Reunion. We met at Motel 60 in Centerville, had a great time renewing family ties and enjoyed some really good food.

Francis Clupny gave the blessing again this year and we were all thankful to meet again.

Attending the reunion this year from the Dewey and Ollie Houser family was Rick Houser of Beacon and Lindsy Oswalt and Cory and Madison Houser from Oskaloosa. We were glad Bruce and Cheryl VerSteegh of Rose Hill could join us for dinner the night before in Albia. Several of the Housers had a wedding to attend the day of the reunion.

Attending from the Ida (Houser) and Milt Exline family was Robert, Bryan and Idalee McClurg.

Descendants from the Lula (Houser) and John White family were Merilou Hamilton, Tom and Zelda Starr and three month old great-granddaughter Ellarose Kimm, Francis, Tammy and Madison Clupny, Wayne Hamilton, Darrin Hamilton, Heather Benjamin, Ashlynn Hamilton and Willamae Heckethorn, Jeff and Janet Hamilton and family (Siera, Saydie, Mariah and Blake) all from Centerville and Willis and Jessie Hamilton from Osceola.

Also attending from the John and Lula White family were Don and Char White, Diana Sanford, Jennifer and Elaina McCarthy, Dennis and Ellen White and Vicky White from Rockford, Ill., Trudy and Gary Young from Stillman Valley, Ill. and Jonathan Young and Sonia Carter from Freeport, Ill.

Doyle and Bonnie Sumpter from Centerville joined us also.

Births this year include Ellarose Marlin Kimm, born May 27, 2012.

Married this year were Jeff and Janet Hamilton.

Deaths this year included Zone Phillips Long and Lorna Oswalt. They are greatly missed.

We hope to see everyone and more next year. Labor Day weekend, same place.
