CENTERVILLE — The 2012 winter concert of the fifth and sixth grade bands were held Tuesday, Dec. 11 at Simon Estes Auditorium in Centerville. The bands were under the direction of Mark Taylor. The fifth grade band performed three selections including three parts from Belwin Beginning Band Kit #6, “I. Lightly Row,” “II. Cool Blues” and “IV. Petite March” arranged by Jack Bullock as well as the traditional English carol, “Good King Wenceslas” and “Jingle Bells” by James Lord Pierpont. The sixth grade band performed six selections including, “Carnival in Rio” arranged by Michael Story, “Midnight Avenger,” by Larry Neeck, “Arioso” by John Visconti, “Manhattan Beach” by John Philip Sousa and arranged by Michael Story, “Christmas Joys” arranged by Sandy Feldstein and “Here Comes Santa Claus” arranged by Jack Bullock.
