Sept. 1
2:31 p.m. A 1996 Chevrolet C3500 driven by Douglas Frederick Ruppert, of Carlisle, was southbound on Highway 5 pulling a white 2003 Coachman Somerset fifth wheel camper and 2004 Lone Star Trailer. Patricia Louise Blackledge, of Mystic, was the driver of a 2003 Chevy Silverado pulling a white 2007 Titan horse trailer east on Highway J18 preparing to cross Highway 5. Blackledge stopped at a stop sign and pulled out on to Highway 5 failing to yield to the Ruppert vehicle. The driver took evasive action by swerving and braking, attempting to avoid the Blackledge vehicle. The Ruppert vehicle collided with the horse trailer and after impact the camper trailer that was being towed by Ruppert overturned on Highway 5. Two passenger occupants of the Ruppert vehicle, Cheri Lou Ruppert and Ryan James Ruppert were transported to Monroe County Hospital with incapacitating injuries. The Ruppert camper sustained major damage. The Blackledge horse trailer sustained major damage and was disabled. Blackledge was cited for failure to yield upon entering a through highway.
Sept. 5
10 p.m. Heaven Leigh Marie Boylson, of Centerville, driving a 2007 Dodge struck a deer in the roadway. The damage was estimated at $2,000.
