Oct. 22

7:37 p.m. David Benjamin Page, 25, of Urbandale had his pre-trial release revoked at the Law Center.

Oct. 23

5:30 p.m. Jacob Anthony Susin, 31, of Centerville was charged on Highway 2 West with having an open container in a motor vehicle. At the same time Jerry Dean Susin, 52, of Numa was charged with having an open container in a vehicle.

Oct. 24

8:13 a.m. Delbert Large, Jr., 46, of Cincinnati was charged in the 25000 block of 210th with possession of a controlled substance. He later posted bond and was released.

3:59 p.m. An accident was reported at Sevier and Irving Streets. Sara Ann Shiltz, 16, of Cincinnati was driving a 1990 Pontiac when she struck a utility pole. The driver fled the scene, but later turned herself in. Shiltz was charged with failure to have a valid driver’s license, failure to prove security against liability, reckless driving and improper use of registration.

4:17 p.m. Krista Louise Powers, 41, of Centerville was charged in the 100 block of North 13th with failure to appear.

Oct. 27

2:08 p.m. Dakota Allyn Barger, 21, of Centerville was charged in the 200 block of West Van Buren with assault causing serious injury.

11:39 p.m. An accident was reported on Highway 5. George Washington Grimm, III, 29, of Cincinnati was driving a 2001 Jeep southwest on Highway 5 when a deer ran into his path and was struck. Damage to Grimm’s vehicle was estimated at $3,000.



Wayne County Sheriff’s Office

Oct. 14

Des Moines Police arrested John Warner Wise, 46, of Des Moines on a Wayne County warrant for contempt of court. Wise was transported to Corydon and appeared before the magistrate the following day. Wise is currently being held in the Wayne County Jail in lieu of bond.

Oct. 15

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office arrested Duane Leo Bearman, 60, of Melrose on a Wayne County warrant for second degree arson. The charge is in connection with the fire at a residence in Indian Ridge in October of 2008. Bearman appeared before the magistrate the following day and is currently being held in the Wayne County Jail in lieu of bond.

Oct. 15

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office assisted by Seymour Police arrested Deanna Joiner, 46, of Seymour following a report of a vehicle striking mail boxes in Promise City. Joiner was later found in Seymour. She was charged with second offense OWI, failure to show proof of insurance and driving while suspended. Joiner appeared before the magistrate the following day and was released on her own recognizance.

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office arrested Matthew Duane Brown, 35, of Promise City on a charge of domestic abuse assault. Brown appeared before the magistrate the following day and was released on his own recognizance.

The Buchanan County, Mo. Sheriff’s Office arrested Dean Cooke Kyle, 26, of Dearborn, Mo. on a Wayne County warrant for second degree theft. The charge was in connection with a non-sufficient funds check written to a Lineville business. Kyle was released after posting $5,000 bond.

Oct. 17

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office assisted by the Seymour Police arrested Doyle Wayne Cowan, 52, of Green City, Mo. after he was found by a deputy on property containing anhydrous ammonia tanks south of Seymour. Cowan was charged with trespassing, interference with official acts, possession with intent to deliver a Schedule II controlled substance (methamphetamine) and possession of a precursor (anhydrous ammonia) with intent to manufacture a Schedule II controlled substance (methamphetamine). Cowan appeared before the magistrate and is currently being held in Wayne County Jail in lieu of $15,600 bond.

Oct. 17

Daniel Phillips of Corydon reported that someone had broken into his residence in Howard Township. Reported missing were three firearms and a glass bowl vaporizer. The missing items were valued at $940.

Oct. 22

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office arrested Douglas Leroy Adrian, 50, of Humeston following a traffic stop on a Humeston street. Adrian was charged with OWI and having an open container. Adrian appeared before the magistrate later in the day and was released on his own recognizance.

Oct. 22

Bill Yeager of Allerton reported that someone had damaged his mailbox and post. The damage was listed at $250.

Oct. 23

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office investigated a car, deer accident approximately one mile east of Corydon. A 2005 Ford driven by Timothy Lee Prunty, 31, of Corydon was westbound on Highway 2 when it struck a deer in the roadway. Damage to the vehicle, owned by the Wayne Community School District was estimated at $400.

Oct. 25

The Wayne County Sherrif’s Office investigated a personal injury accident at Highway 65 and J22 in Humeston. A 1995 Ford Taurus driven by Tia Jean Shea, 18, of Garden Grove was eastbound on J22 when it failed to stop at the intersection and struck a 2001 Freightliner Classic semi-tractor and trailer driven by Miles Kirk Latham, 57, of Derby. Damage was estimated at $5,000 to Shea’s car and $500 to Latham’s truck. Shea was issued a citation for failure to obey a stop sign. Assisting at the scene were the Wayne County Ambulance, Humeston First Responders and Humeston Fire Department.

Oct. 26 Corydon Police investigated a property damage accident at West Jefferson and South Franklin Streets in Corydon. A 2001 Buick LeSabre driven by Margaret Jean Scieszinski, 80, of Melrose and a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Robert Michael McConahay, 59, of Corydon collided at the intersection. Damage was estimated at $2,500 to Scieszinski’s car and at $2,000 to McConahay’s truck.
