The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office arrested Kimberly A. Coe, 40, of Allerton, on a Wayne County warrant for fifth degree theft. The charge was in connection with two insufficient funds checks written to an Allerton business in April. Coe was released after posting $300 bond.

Dec. 16

Bobby Davis, of Corydon, reported that a John Deere combine and a door to a farm building had been vandalized on property in Clinton Township.

Dec. 16

Seymour Police arrested Gerald Andrew Custer Rinehart, 18, of Seymour, on a charge of assault. The charge was in connection with an incident earlier in the day at the parking lot at the Seymour School. Rinehart appeared before the Magistrate the following day and was released on his own recognizance.

Dec. 17

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office investigated a one-vehicle accident approximately three miles north of Promise City. A 1993 Jeep Cherokee driven by Larry Dean Wendland, 33, of Centerville, was northbound on S56 when the driver lost control. The vehicle went off the east side of the road, struck a farm drive, went airborne and then rolled over. Damage to the car was estimated at $5,000. Wendland was issued a citation for failure to show proof of insurance.
