Appanoose County Sheriff 7/17/2012

CENTERVILLE — July 7

7:54 p.m. Skylur Arlo Devore, 15, of Batavia, was driving a 2000 Polaris Sportsman 550 ATV owned by Dennis Lee Cline, of Melrose, on Bridgeview Place and made a left turn onto Bob Olink Circle. Devore said he made the turn too fast causing his passenger, Jesse Kay Garber, 15, of Agency, to be ejected off the ATV. A witness said the driver of the ATV turned left at an excessive speed, which caused the left side tires of the ATV to lose contact with the surface causing the rear passenger to be ejected from the ATV. Garber was transported to Monroe County Hospital by ambulance. Devore was charged with careless driving, ATV violation and violation of an instruction permit.
