Jones breaks school record

Centerville High School and Indian Hills Alum Lauren Jones continues to succeed outside the midwest.

Jones recently competed at the Southland Championships in Norman, Oklahoma. Jones, a junior at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, La, broke the school record for the 5K. Bettering the time by nine seconds, Jones finished 10th with a time of 18:25.62. Nicholls State Coach Scott Williamson commented that “Lauren ran as hard as she could and broke a school record, but it was a crowded field in the 5K.”

Prior to transferring to Nicholls State, Jones was a First Team All Region selection while at Indian Hills Community College in her 2007-2008 season.

Jones and the Nicholls State Colonels gear up for the Southern Miss Invitational in Hattiesburg, Miss. on March 13th.
