The Mohawk football squad has been working hard the past week. The team is preparing for its season opener on Friday, Aug. 21 in Afton against the Eagles of East Union.
Fans can get a sneak peak of this year's team at the "Meet the Mohawks" practice that will be held Friday, Aug. 14 at 6 p.m.
Players will show their skills through offensive and defensive drills. The players will scrimage each other to demonstrate Moravia's offense and defense this year.
Admission to the event will be a free will cash donation. The money gained from this practice will be used for sack lunches given to the players after each regular season game. Along with concession stand items, pork loins will be sold at the practice.
Fans will be able to order and buy Mohawk football merchandise at the practice as well. Everyone is encouraged to come check out the 2009 Moravia Mohawk football squad.
