Poker tournament raises $650 for Cancer Society


SEYMOUR – Rich Parker and Jeff Hornaday hosted a Texas Hold ‘em Tournament in Seymour on May 12 and raised more than $650 to go to the American Cancer Society. The tournament was part of the "Relay for Life" event that will be held June 23 at Paul Johnson Field in Centerville from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Throughout the tournament prizes were given away to those participating.

Local sponsors who generously donated prizes for the event were: Kum and Go, Dollar General, McDonalds, Wal-Mart, Subway, Hy-Vee, Dannco, Brown's Shoe Fit, The Wearhouse, Bratz Shell, The Seymour Herald, and Elite Salon.

Matt Kovacevich took home the first place trophy with Tory Peck taking second and Gary "Flipper" Robertson placing third.
