CHS freshmen win over Kirksville

The freshman volleyball girls started their season play with a match against Kirksville. Playing for the best two-out-of-three, Centerville had the victory over Kirksville in the first two games with scores of 25-4 and 25-3.

“Our serving skills were a great advantage over Kirksville,” said coach Dorothy Zaputil. In the first game Delaney Evers served eight consecutive serves and 15 consecutive serves in the second game, along with Ali Parker to have seven consecutive serves in the first game.

In the second game Jill Whisler served seven consecutive serves. Others that contributed to serving points were Katie Appler with two points in the first game and four in the second game. McKenzie Jewett had one point each game from serving points.

The Centerville freshman will be at the Eddyville tournament today with matches starting at 5:30 p.m.
