Dr. Nick Hindley was presented with a plaque by Centerville Booster Club Member Stan Maddy at the Centerville football game against Albia last Friday night in appreciation of the nine years that he served as president, working for the benefit of young athletes.
Centerville Athletic Booster Club accomplishments while Hindley was president include the enlargement of the food concession stand at Paul Johnson Field for football and track, addition of the leader boards in Lakeview gym, high school softball improvements with new dugout with improved storage and concrete for the high school softball batting cage, creating and furnishing of a room at Lakeview for use by the high school coaching staff to use for meetings, banners for each sport to hang in Lakeview gym, addition of a new trophy case for Lakeview and purchasing new scorers table and chairs for the new Howar Junior High gym.

The Big Reds fought off an attempt by Kirksville to steal the game away, as Centerville won 73-61 Saturday. Centerville led 50-30 at the half, but Kirksville used a 21 point third quarter to pull back within reach, heading into the fourth quarter with Centerville leading 59-51.
