After three years, "we finally have seniors," head coach Jennifer Miller said.
After going 2-18 in 2011, Seymour returns all their players, three of whom are seniors this year.
"Hopefully their [the seniors] experience will help us win more games and be more successful this year,” said Miller. “I'm looking forward to the season, we've put in a lot of time in the off-season in order to try to rebuild the program."
Miller says her team's strengths will be back row defense and serving, as well as experience. However, the team will need to improve their attack and defensive approach at the net.
Hannah Swan, Savannah McElvain and Jacey Jones are the seniors this season. Other returning starters are Brooke Eldridge, Kaylee Horman, Michele Bland and Morgan Knust. Josie Harvey, Sydney Bethards and Cheyenne Bostwick are other notable players coming into the season.
"If we can keep everyone healthy I think we should be able to pull some wins out this year," Miller said.
Miller will be assisted this season by coach Emily McIntire. Miller says Moravia is her pick to win the conference this season, with Twin Cedars and Melcher-Dallas also being tough in their conference schedule.
