Starcevich tosses no-hitter as Redettes split with Ft. Madison

CENTERVILLE — Centerville’s Olivia Starcevich picked up her 12th win of the season with a no-hit performance, leading Centerville to a 7-0 win over Ft. Madison Tuesday night.

The Centerville Redettes recorded ten hits in their shutout win. Starcevich, Kiley Micetich and Colleen Boyle picked up doubles from the plate. Chelsey Banks picked up three RBI while going 2-4 from the plate.

A 29-hit affair turned into a loss for Centerville in the other game of the twinbill. Ft. Madison put up 19 hits while Centerville tallied 10 total.

Micetich started the game and pitched four innings. Boyle was credited with the loss after pitching the final three innings.

Centerville scored four runs in the first, two in the second, three in the first and one in the seventh.

Centerville was leading 9-7 heading into the sixth inning. However, Ft. Madison put up six runs in the top of the seventh to take the eventual win.

On Wednesday, the Moravia Lady Mohawks took a 3-0 victory in an inter-county pitching duel.

Moravia and pitcher Annie Moore came out on top of that duel.

Moore tossed 13 strikeouts while walking just two batters. Each team committed three errors in the game.

Moravia scored two runs in the third and added one more in the fifth inning.

Katelynn Tracy drove in two of those runs while going 2-3 with a double. Nicole Self was 1-3 and owned the third hit for Moravia. Emily Moore and Autumn McDanel came around to score for Moravia.

Moravia (16-9, 10-2 in BGC hosted Murray Thursday while Centerville (16-8) hosted Eddyville-Blakesburg.
