The Moravia Mohawks traveled to Mormon Trail on Feb. 5 and finished strong with a 61-47 victory
Austin Cosgrove and Jack Clouse led the team with 16 points each while Chris Bird and Blake Weilbrenner added 13 and 11 points respectively.
On defense the boys were led by Bird grabbing 10 rebounds while Keith Rowley and Cosgrove each had two steals.
Rowley led the team in assists with four.v

Centerville freshman Alex Moorman turned in a score of 73 strokes at Ames Golf and Country Club Friday afternoon. He will resume action Saturday morning from lead.

No. 6 Redettes start season 1-2
Ranked sixth in Class 3A to start the season, the Centerville Redettes started their softball season with a win over Southeast Warren on Monday. However, on Tuesday, the Redettes would drop two to a strong Mt. Pleasant squad, currently unranked in Class 4A.

Melcher-Dallas beats M-U 14-2 in opener
The Moulton-Udell Lady Eagles held a 1-0 lead against Melcher-Dallas Saints through three innings.
However, the Saints picked up three runs in the fourth, five in the fifth and six in the sixth inning to take the eventual 14-2 win. -
Eagles split first two games of the season
The Moulton-Udell Eagles started the season 1-1, after a loss to Wayne and a win against Melcher-Dallas.

Centerville distance med team breaks school record en route to title
Centerville’s 1,600 meter distance medley team took the state title in the event at the Iowa High School Co-Ed State Track Meet at Drake Stadium on Friday. They did so by breaking the school record in the event.

Fifteen area athletes qualify for state track meet
There will be several area athletes competing at the 2012 Iowa High School State Track Meet at Drake Stadium in Des Moines this weekend. A total of 15 individual athletes between Moravia, Seymour and Centerville will compete in 13 events.

The Centerville BIg Reds are district champions. They claimed the title by am 11 stroke margin over Pella at Willow Creek Golf Course yesterday afternoon.
