CENTERVILLE —
On Saturday, Aug. 7, 2010 at 7 p.m. at the Smith Chapel on Simpson College Campus in Indianola, Paige Louise Johnson and Joseph David Keller were united in marriage by the Rev. Jonathan Vehar, Joseph’s brother-in-law.
Paige is the daughter of Byron and Peggy Johnson of Centerville and granddaughter of Etta Enright and the late Delmar Enright of Sewal and the late L. Jay and Dolores Johnson of Centerville.
Joseph is the son of Ron and Sue Keller of Centerville and grandson of Max and Freda Keller of Indianola and the Late Norbert and Donna Harmeyer of Fort Madison.
Paige was escorted down the aisle by her father in a strapless Mori Lee by Madeline Gardner soft satin gown. The groom wore a black tuxedo with red vest. Joining them at the altar, blessing the married, were the bride’s mother and the groom’s parents.
The bride’s matron of honor, Jenny Walker, wore a long black party dress. Paige’s other attendants were her sisters, Bridget Johnson of Des Moines and Jaemi Poncy of Altoona; the groom’s sister Kara Vehar of Scotland, S.D.; and friends, Missi Bryan of Indianola and Sheena Kauzlarcih of Chicago, Ill. All the bridesmaids wore black cocktail dresses. Taylor Dorbeck, cousin of the bride and Hannah Vehar, niece of the groom were flower girls. Guest book attendants were the bride’s cousin, Amber Swan of Powersville, Mo. and bride’s friend, Riley Drake of Centerville.
The groom’s best man was Jason Cooper of Des Moines. Joseph’s other attendants were Jared Johnson, bride’s bother, of Centerville; friends; Kenny Purcell of Chicago, Ill., Travis Bennett, of Des Moines, Gib Johnson of Centerville and David Buss of Raeford, N.C. David Buss was unable to attend due to his participation in the armed service overseas. Calif Poncy, nephew of the bride and Tanner Dorbeck, cousin of the bride served as ring bears. Tony Strode of Ankeny, Nathan Houser of Des Moines and Adam Whisler of Des Moines were the ushers and candle lighters at the service. All the groom’s attendants, ushers and ring bearers wore black tuxedos with white vests.
Following the ceremony a dessert and cocktail reception held at the Indianola Country Club was hosted by Dave and Kim Keller and Ric and Lynn Sandoval, godparents of the groom. Music and a photo booth for the dance were provided by A Special Event DJ service.
San Diego was the destination for their honeymoon. The couple currently resides in Des Moines.
Paige and Joe thank the many people from the local area for making the trip to share their special evening with them.

Starr, Salladay are married in Oct. 6 ceremony
Autumn E. Salladay of rural Udell and Justin A. Starr of rural Davis County were united in marriage Saturday, Oct. 6 at Fairview Church of Brethren in Unionville, Iowa with Carl Heien and Kay Singley officiating.
