MERCER, Mo. — The remains of a Centerville man who disappeared more than six years ago have been found.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said Thursday evening that the human remains that were discovered on private property in northeast Mercer County, Missouri, were those of Sebastian "Ty" Husted, of Centerville.

Husted was originally reported missing on Jan. 22, 2018, when he was 18 years old. He would have since turned 24.

His remains were located Tuesday by turkey hunters, the state patrol said. The sheriff's office there requested the assistance of the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Anyone with information relating to his disappearance and death is asked to contact the Mercer County Sheriff's Office at 660-748-3165 or the Centerville Police Department at 641-437-7100.

Authorities have not released any further information other than the identification.

According to prior reporting by the Centerville Daily Iowegian, Husted was last known to be traveling to work in Lineville, Missouri, a village located in Mercer County, Missouri near the Iowa/Missouri state line. He worked as a power washer in a hog barn there, and left Centerville with a co-worker.

Husted went missing before the birth of his first son.
